Other Books
If there is nothing that appeals to you on our list of Titles to Sponsor but you would like to be involved in this project, then please do contact us with suggestions. All our Rare Books can be viewed on the Library Catalogue, and you can contact us to enquire about the condition of the book of your choice. We can also make suggestions if there is a particular author that interests you.
Many of the books and periodicals in our Loan Collection are also in need of basic binding. Any donations towards this are very welcome. A donation of £30 will bind a book in buckram, a simple but long-lasting way to reinforce books, while a donation of £100 will allow us to carry out buckram binding but also repair torn or loose pages, add map pockets etc. where necessary.
Perhaps there is a book which is of importance to you personally which you think could benefit from binding? Or there might be a series of periodicals in the library you have noticed are unbound and are now beginning to show wear and tear?
As with the Rare Books, a book plate will be placed in the book with your name, and details of your donation will appear on our website (you may, of course, remain anonymous).
If you would like to make a donation then please see the How to Sponsor page for more details.
